SPERRY, Okla. — Power has been restored in Sperry after a crash caused an outage, which prompted classes to be canceled on Monday.
According to Sperry Fire Department, a power pole was hit on the corner of Main and Cincinnati around 4 a.m. Monday morning.
Nick Mahoney, Sperry Police Chief, says a driver was headed northbound on Cincinnati when he hit the pole. He was taken to a hospital in Tulsa with non-life threatening injuries.
The power pole that was struck was a main feeder line to the school which caused the power outage. Mahoney says half of Sperry was without power.
