Officials have released dramatic footage that reveals the split-second moment Oklahoma principal Kirk Moore tackled a school shooter after being shot in the leg.
The suspect, allegedly a former student, is quickly subdued and disarmed. The principal’s quick thinking stopped a potential tragedy at Pauls Valley High School.

April 7, 2026 PAULS VALLEY, Okla. — The Garvin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pauls Valley Police Department have confirmed that a shooting took place in the lobby of Pauls Valley High School.Authorities said all students are safe and accounted for, and no students were injured during the shooting. However, Pauls Valley High School Principal Kirk Moore was injured during the incident.
Moore is in stable condition, according to authorities. Police said there is no current threat, and this is an ongoing investigation. Pauls Valley is located southeast of Oklahoma City.
