TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University has been recognized as a Silver-designated Military Friendly institution for the sixth year in a row.
This recognition spotlights the school’s dedication to Veterans and their families.
“When I stepped into this role, it was important that Northeastern State University remain a place where every Veteran feels the same sense of mission and support, they found in uniform,” said NSU President and Veteran Rodney Hanley. “Earning this Silver designation for the sixth consecutive year reflects a commitment that runs throughout our university. We’re not only helping Veterans and their families begin their education — we’re supporting them all the way through to graduation and beyond.”
The Silver Award is given to institutions that exceed standards for student retention, graduation, and job placement for Veterans.
Those who have earned the Military Friendly School designation are evaluated by public data. Over 3,200 schools were involved in the 2026-2027 survey and 878 were given special awards.
