TULSA, Okla. — Oklahoma Alliance for Animals (OAA) is seeking donations and a foster home for a dog who lost his ears after they said his previous owner intentionally left rubber bands on them to cut off their circulation.

The organization first shared Winston’s story on March 31st.

They said Winston was found in Turley after a homeowner noticed him pacing outside the door of her house.

Noticing Winston was in distress, she reached out to the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals to get him help.

Both the OAA and the Alta Vista Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge stepped in to take over Winston’s care.

The organization said they believe someone intentionally tightly tied rubber bands around Winston’s ears to cut off the circulation.

While the organization was originally hopeful Winston’s ears could be saved, OAA said they were forced to eventually remove them because the damage was too severe.

As of Monday evening, OAA said Winston is still in boarding and they’re searching for a foster to take him in.

While they wait to find a safe place for Winston to stay, they’re asking the public for donations to help cover his medical care and boarding expenses.
