BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Additional police officers are on Broken Arrow High School’s campus Friday due to an anonymous gun threat authorities now believe is not credible.

The district sent a letter to parents that said the Broken Arrow Police Department received a threat regarding gun violence at the high school.

Law enforcement does not believe the threat to be credible, but additional officers have been stationed on campus for the remainder of the afternoon out of an abundance of caution, the district said.

School operations will continue as normal.

The district said safety and security of its students and staff remains its top priority and it is working closely with BAPD as officers assess the situation.

If there are any updates or additional information to share, the district said it will communicate with families promptly.
