TULSA, Okla. — Former Oklahoma State Representative Don Ross has died at 85-years-old.
Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols made the announcement on social media Wednesday, saying Ross was a trailblazer for the community.
Mayor Nichols said Ross stood as a voice for progress breaking barriers, championing civil rights and working tirelessly to ensure all of north Tulsa was seen, heard and valued.
“His leadership extended far beyond elected office in the lives he touched, the doors he opened, and the legacy he leaves behind.
My thoughts are with the Ross family and our entire city as we mourn this loss,” Mayor Nichols said on social media.
