On Sunday, Edmond Police responded to a mass shooting just after 9 p.m. at a party at Arcadia Lake.

Authorities said the incident took place during what they said was an unsanctioned party advertised across social media, which drew a large crowd of young adults.

Police said about 23 people were identified with injuries ranging in severity. Several were taken for treatment, and some sought treatment on their own.

In reference to the shooting, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt released the following statement on Monday:

“I have been in contact with the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, and what happened at Arcadia Lake is unacceptable. This kind of violence has no place in Oklahoma, and we will not tolerate it in our communities. We will find those responsible and hold them fully accountable.”

At this time, Edmond Police said they are still investigating, and there is currently no suspect in custody.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call the Edmond Police Department at 405-359-4338.

National nonprofit organization Youth Peace & Justice Foundation has opened applications for emergency funding for the victims and their families of the shooting. Funds help cover numerous costs, including medical and trauma costs.
