Downtown Tulsa getting an urban dog park

TULSA, Okla. — Groundbreaking was held Thursday for a new dog park in the Arts District in downtown Tulsa.

Dubbed the ‘Brush Arbor Grove Dog Park,’ it will be located in the existing green space just south of Sisserou’s  Caribbean Restaurant on Archer Street, between Boulder and Main.

For Tulsa to continue to attract people to live in the downtown area, organizers say it’s important to make sure there are dog-friendly spaces.

They say the park will have separate areas for large and small dogs, as well as high-grade artificial turf to help with cleanliness, durability and year-round maintenance.

The park is funded through private donors, Sharp Development and the Downtown Tulsa Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
