Four Tulsa weekend shootings, result in six injuries, one dead

The Tulsa Police Department had a busy weekend with four shootings and seven shooting victims, starting with a shooting on Friday near the Western Pines Apartments, near Southwest Boulevard, where a man was shot multiple times but lived.

Witnesses heard 15 gunshots, and officers found the victim, who had been shot multiple times, near the playground area. The victim is expected to live after being struck in the arms, stomach, back, and legs.

On Saturday, three people were shot at the Fontana Shopping Center when a party got out of hand. A fistfight that started in a restaurant bled out into the parking lot, where three people were shot. Two of the victims were shot in the legs, and the other was shot in the back and shoulder, and the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. There were two shootings on Sunday, and one ended in a homicide in the parking lot of the Trade Winds Central Inn at 31st and East Skelly Drive. The victim, 28-year-old Marcus Vasquez, was rushed to the hospital but eventually died.

Two more people were shot Sunday, a 27-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, but the wounds weren’t life-threatening.

Tulsa Police Officer Andre Baul tells KRMG that none of the shootings were related. The shootings were committed by different people in different parts of town.
