Man arrested after TPD says he fired shots inside ex-girlfriend’s home with child inside

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a man has been arrested after he broke inside the home of his ex-girlfriend and fired several shots into the ceiling while his child was inside the home.

Around 1:00 a.m. on Monday, officers with TPD said they responded to a shots fired call at a home near East Apache Street and North Norfolk Avenue.

When officers arrived, they said the victim told them her ex-boyfriend, who is also the father of her five-month-old son, had arrived at her house and demanded to be let inside.

She said the suspect then kicked down the front door and entered the home carrying a pistol in his hand along with a rifle strapped around his shoulder.

The victim said she grabbed her son and hid in the bedroom.

According to authorities, the suspect fired five rounds into the kitchen ceiling before leaving the victim’s home.

Police said the suspect then went to a house located near East 54th Street North and North Hartford Avenue where his current girlfriend was at.

Law enforcement said the homeowner and the suspect’s current girlfriend told officers the suspect had pointed his rifle at her and hit her in the head several times.

Authorities said they responded to the home and commanded the suspect to come out unarmed.

Eventually, police said the suspect surrendered and was able to be taken into custody.

He was taken to the Tulsa County Jail and is facing the following charges:

  • Domestic Assault and Battery
  • Child Endangerment
  • Discharging a Weapon into a Dwelling
  • Feloniously Pointing a Firearm
  • First-Degree Burglary
  • Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony
  • Threatening an Act of Violence
