Passenger flags down emergency workers after fatal crash

Tulsa police officers were called to a crash scene Saturday night near 31st and the Creek Turnpike.

The passenger of the crashed truck flagged down first responders to direct them to the spot where the truck was upside down off the side of the roadway.

The passenger said 62-year-old Robert Larson Jr. was exiting the Creek Turnpike on 31st and wasn’t able to navigate the eastbound turn.

The truck started to spin and hit a tree, which disconnected the truck bed.

Police say there no one inside the truck was wearing a seatbelt.

Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the cab’s back window.

The cab rolled onto Larson, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger sustained minor injuries.
