The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a fatality crash on I-44 and HWY 75 this morning, where a semi-truck and another vehicle struck a man, who stepped into traffic.
OHP Lt. Mark Southall told KRMG a man stopped his vehicle in the westbound construction zone of I-44 and HWY 75 before the accident occurred.
“What we know at this point is that a driver pulled into a closed construction area. At some point, he entered the roadway where he was struck by a semi-truck, and then another vehicle struck him as well, shortly thereafter. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, (and the) next of kin notification has been made,” Southall said.
The name of the deceased hasn’t been released, and troopers are still investigating the accident.
