TULSA, Okla. –Tulsa Police say a man drowned Monday in the Arkansas River near the River Spirit Casino.
Police say someone in the hotel reported the incident a little before 6:00 p.m., after hearing someone yelling for help and then seeing the man in the water.
They say that initially, first responders could only find the man’s clothing and other belongings on the shoreline.
But then, after an hourlong search, they say they found the man in the water and say he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police are reminding people the river in that spot is fairly deep with strong currents and is not safe for swimming or wading.
