Authorities said they found no victims in the area and began searching for the suspect.

Only a few minutes later, law enforcement said they received several calls reporting that a white Chevrolet Tahoe had crashed into a pole near East 31st Street and South Peoria Avenue.

Officers said the driver had already left the area when they arrived at the scene, leaving behind a handgun on the floorboard of the car’s driver’s seat.

Authorities said several more calls came in reporting that a shirtless man wearing red, white and blue shorts was running through backyards close to the scene of the crash.

Law enforcement said multiple witnesses confirmed the 29-year-old man was the suspect they’d seen running away from the crash.

Police said the suspect seemed intoxicated and stated the suspect later admitted that he’d been drinking.

After being taken to the hospital for treatment, the suspect was taken to the Tulsa County Jail and booked on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony
  • DUI
  • Leaving the Scene of a Collision
  • Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
