TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa has officially launched 18 pre-approved housing plans that they say will speed up construction of affordable housing.
The City says the 18 plans in the T-Town HOME (Housing Options Made Easy) Catalog are permit-ready and have already been approved to meet all building codes.
They say that should make the construction process cheaper and faster and remove much of the uncertainty when building the home.
The home plans can be used in many different areas around the city, but several are designed to work well in the small, infill lots in the older areas of town, where permitting can sometimes be more difficult.
City officials point out that while the home plans are pre-approved, each construction site will still to undergo a review process.
