COLLINSVILLE — Collinsville police were called out to a QuikTrip to investigate a domestic altercation between a man and a woman that resulted in her death Friday.
Collinsville Police Chief Matt Burke told KRMG that 36-year-old Amber Rene Lee and her ex-boyfriend, Tyler Kendrick, were arguing when she was struck and run over by Kendrick, who was driving a large dually pickup truck that had wide tires in the back.
Reports say that Lee was outside of the truck when Kendrick attempted to leave the scene, but she ended up being pulled under and crushed.
“I think she got pulled under the vehicle and run over, and we believe that her — we don’t have the medical examiner’s report exactly to know exactly what the cause of death was, but medics seem to believe, due to the amount of blood loss, maybe the femoral artery got cut,” Burke said.
Lee was rushed to the hospital but died from her injuries. Kendrick was taken into custody and is being held on complaints of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
