‘Anti-Trump’ protestor arrested in Sand Springs after confrontation sends one to the hospital

SAND SPRINGS — An “Anti-Trump” protester and her husband were arrested in Sand Springs after a confrontation at a QuikTrip sent one person to the hospital.

Known for her vulgar anti-Trump antics at 71st and Memorial in Tulsa, Monica Ponnequin was recently arrested after a confrontation Sunday morning during a protest at the Sand Springs QuikTrip. Monica Ponnequin and her husband, Jason Ponnequin, will face assault charges after police say he intentionally rammed his Chevy Tahoe into a vehicle driven by a man who confronted them over their protest signs.

Reports said Jason Ponnequin also threw a heavy sign at the victim’s vehicle and then rammed the vehicle with his SUV.

Officers say they have security footage of the Ponnequins being the aggressors, and they found two debit cards that belonged to other people, including an EBT card, and a legal handgun that fires pepper balls.

Monica Ponnequin is facing charges of assault and conspiracy to commit a felony, and Jason Ponnequin is facing charges of throwing an object at a moving vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a felony, and malicious injury to property.
