Green Country is heading into its most dangerous stretch of heat this week.
Tuesday stands out as the most dangerous day in this stretch of summer heat, the National Weather Service in Tulsa says temperatures will climb into the mid‑90s to around 105°F, and humidity will push heat indices into the 110–115°F range.
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning from noon to 8 PM Tuesday for northeast Oklahoma, east‑central and southeast Oklahoma, and west‑central Arkansas. During these hours, the combination of heat and humidity will make outdoor activity risky, and heat‑related illnesses become far more likely.
The broader pattern stays hot and humid through the early week, but Tuesday is the clear peak, NWS says.
A slight dip in temperatures and humidity arrives mid‑week, offering a brief window of relief before the heat builds again heading into the weekend.
Even with that break, precautions remain important: hydration, shade, and limiting strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day.
