TULSA, Okla. — OGE Energy Corp. signed the White House ratepayer Protection Pledge, joining other electric companies in promising to keep customers safe from increased costs due to high-energy demand.
“We firmly believe high-energy demand consumers can drive costs down for other customers when connected to the grid through OG&E,” said the company. “We support the spirit of the pledge while we must operate within the framework of Oklahoma law and Oklahoma Corporation Commission policy.”
The White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge is designed to keep customers’ costs from rising due to high-energy consumers, such as data centers. For OG&E, their commitment is directly tied to their proposed mission.
Their commitment to keeping prices low is tied to its proposed large-load tariff.
