BATON ROUGE — Louisiana State University officials deny the rumor that Jesse Butler is attending school there.
Several social media outlets were claiming that Butler was attending LSU in the fall after he pleaded “no contest” to brutally raping and strangling two teens in 2024.
However, the university issued a statement on social media that it has no record of Butler in its admissions system, nor any indication that Butler plans to enroll. In 2025, Butler was arrested and charged with a slew of sexual crimes, including sexual battery, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, and violation of a protective order.
Per the plea agreement made with prosecutors, Butler’s case was formally dismissed on Monday after he completed all of his probation requirements.
Butler never served a day in prison.
