Tulsa Police bust accused ‘beef bandits’ near Sam’s Club

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested two men who are accused of stealing more than $1,100 of raw meat from a Sam’s Club.

Police say around 7:00 p.m. Monday night, surveillance cameras at the Sam’s Club at 44th and Sheridan showed 24-year-old Benjamin Rice putting the meat in a bag, leaving the store, and getting into a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Derek Smith.

Police say two other people, 50-year-old Amy Lamb and 65-year-old Kenneth Finney, stole about $300 worth of other items from the store and also jumped in the truck.

Police say the group only made it about two blocks before they were pulled over and all were arrested.

They say Rice and Smith are facing Grand Larceny charges and were taken to jail.

They say Lamb and Finney received citations for Larceny and were released.
