The three remaining candidates made their case for being the state’s next governor.
The Tulsa Regional Chamber held a State of the State forum Thursday with gubernatorial candidates Mike Mazzei, Cyndi Munson, and Gentner Drummond. In the question-and-answer forum, TU President Stacy Leeds moderated, and the candidates spoke about topics such as healthcare, homelessness, the environment, childcare, and education.
“My priorities in my administration will be education, healthcare, mental health, (and) workforce development within partnership with the tribes,” Drummond said.
“As governor, I will continue to support, making sure that we’re funding childcare subsidies,” Munson said.
The three also spoke about education, and they mentioned Oklahoma’s low ranking.
“And in my first week of office, I will hire a statewide literacy director,” Mazzei said.
Munson said we have to stop sending public dollars to private schools.
In August, Republican candidates Drummond and Mazzei will square off in the run-off primary election, and Munson will represent the democrats in November.
