Public invited to Rose District planning meeting in Broken Arrow tonight

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — People are being invited to offer their ideas and also learn more about the city’s plans, as Broken Arrow leaders strategize the next phase of development in downtown Broken Arrow’s Rose District.

There’s a public meeting tonight (Thursday) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Central on Main Ballroom at 210 N. Main Street.

City Manager Michael Spurgeon says they want to plan what the Rose District will look like as it expands further south.

“There’s lots of opportunities for additional growth all the way down to Washington (91st Street), but also look at the codes, look at the overlay for zoning, what can we do to attract more businesses, more homes in that area to support those businesses,” Spurgeon said.

He says tonight’s meeting will be a come and go event with an ‘open house’ format.

He says team members will also be at the Rose District Farmer’s Market on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, to get people’s ideas and comments.
