Polls closed at 7 p.m. after voters cast ballots for bond votes.
In Bartlesville, voters made a big decision for the school district on whether to approve nearly $40.5 million in school bonds.
The first proposition on the ballot is worth $39 million and it focused on expanding programs that are growing throughout the district, along with different safety improvements.
In Proposition 2, the district asked for $2.25 million to update its transportation fleet.
That includes replacing seven route buses, adding special education buses and buying more small vehicles that the district calls “People Movers” used to get smaller groups of students to things like extra-curricular activities.
The district said those small vehicles could also help with another issue: a shortage of bus drivers.
Bartlesville Public Schools said both propositions would not raise taxes from where they are now.
Proposition 1 passed with 65% of the vote and Proposition 2 passed with 66% of the vote.
The City of Tahlequah voted on two propositions as well.
Proposition 1 seeks to collect 50% of sales tax to fund capital improvements for the city. Proposition 2 wants to use 25% of sales tax to “fund the general government needs” of the City of Tahlequah.
Proposition one passed with 52.88% of votes and Proposition two did not pass, with 59% of voters choosing ‘no.’
The City of Bixby is voting on a proposed 2026 Go Bond, which seeks to address public safety, roads, parks, and sewer issues.
The Bixby bond has four propositions.
Proposition one focuses on public safety and includes adding a new fire station in south Bixby, adding an animal shelter, and a backup emergency operations center to support 911 dispatch.
Proposition two focuses on road widening and resurfacing projects.
The bond looks to fund two widening projects and three resurfacing projects.
