Coweta Police Department release body cam footage of traffic stop

COWETA, Okla. — The Coweta Police Department released video of a traffic stop where an officer used forced and a man ended up with a fractured arm.

Police say the incident has gotten a lot of attention on social media, so they released the video for full transparency.

It started when Officer Rice pulls a man over who then exits the car. Soon after, other officers arrive, and Officer Rice separates from the man.

The man did not complain of arm pain, but Officer Rice let his supervisor know that the man’s arm may have been injured in the struggle.

The police department says its administrative review of the incident is ongoing and they may release additional information once the investigation is finished.

In the meantime, the City of Coweta said anyone who wants to watch the video themselves can go to the City’s website and file a request online to view it, and it will be immediately available once the request is received.
