TULSA, Okla. — Multiple agencies are responding to an near East 41st Street and South Sheridan Road following a deputy involved shooting.
According to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy saw a man dodging in and out of traffic around 12:45 p.m. on Monday.
Authorities said the deputy noticed the man appeared to have something in his waistband, leading the deputy to pull over and attempt to speak with him.
At this point, the deputy said the suspect pulled out a gun.
The sheriff’s office said the deputy pulled out his own gun and shots were exchanged between the two.
Authorities said the suspect has been transported to the hospital for treatment.
Currently, a section of East 41st Street from South Sheridan Road to I-44 is closed as first responders and law enforcement respond to the scene.
