TULSA, Okla. – The iconic Admiral Twin Drive-in is hosting the PÄRLĀ Film Festival tonight.
The festival highlights a collection of short films, including work from right here in Tulsa and around the country.
One of the shorts showing tonight features actress Tami Erin, who is well known for her role as the original Pippi Longstocking.
Tami, who now lives in Oklahoma, says the film, “Love Always, Sheila,” was written and directed by local filmmaker Abbie de Vera and has an all-female local cast.
Tami says, ” Abbie wrote this amazing short; she had her eyes set on an Australian film festival specifically for the film.”
Tami says she loved the script when she read it and loved that it was an all female cast and director.
Tami says, “It’s called a dramedy because it does have comedy, but also has very sentimental storylines to it.”
The film was just finished up two months ago, and Tami says she is excited to see the film on the big screen, under the stars.
The gates open at 6 pm with food, drinks, vendors, and music, and the films start at 8 pm.
The PÄRLĀ Film Festival event is free.
