TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Police say a man has been arrested after a woman reported she was held at gunpoint while the suspect stole money from the store register.
Police say the armed robbery happened at Plaza San Cristobal near 41st and 129th East Ave. Friday afternoon around 11:54.
TPD says officers quickly canvassed the area while detectives checked out video surveillance that clearly showed the suspect’s face, clothing, and firearm.
Police say the video showed a Black male wearing a blue hoodie, grey sweatpants with an OSU logo, brown house shoes, and carrying a small black semi-automatic handgun.
Police say they tracked 21-year-old Ca’Rell Bellvie to the Stonebrook Apartments, located directly across the street from the scene of the robbery.
After obtaining a search warrant, Detectives say a search of the apartment turned up the gun under a mattress, the OSU sweatpants seen in the surveillance video in a backpack, and the stolen cash wrapped up in a blanket on the couch.
Bellvie was transported to the Detective Division, where TPD says he confessed to the robbery, saying he targeted the business because he needed money and believed the clerk did not speak English.
Ca’Rell Bellvie was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for Robbery with a Firearm.
