TULSA, Okla. — The BOK Center announced country music singer Ella Langley’s Friday night concert has been canceled due to a “serious security threat.”
The BOK Center released a statement that said in part, “The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot proceed. We understand the disappointment this news brings and apologize to fans who planned to attend. The safety of fans is our foremost concern and will always come first.”
Our news partners at FOX23 reached out to the Tulsa Police Department who said they believe the threat was likely a swatting call.
According to TPD, officers carried out their regular security check they conduct before each concert and found nothing of concern.
On Friday morning, authorities said they received a phone call threatening harm at the concert, though they said no details were specified by the caller.
TPD said they found no credible threat and believe there is no active threat at this time.
The department said they did not advise either the BOK Center or Langley to cancel the concert, stating the decision to cancel the show was likely made either by the BOK Center itself or Langley’s team.
The BOK Center said information about ticket refunds will be shared as soon as possible.
