TULSA, Okla. — Rallies organized by the No Kings Network opposed to President Donald Trump were held across the country on Saturday, including right here in Tulsa.
The rally held in Tulsa was located near 41st Street and South Yale Avenue. Organizers said they’re rallying to get people to vote early in the midterm elections, which are just weeks away.
“There are a lot of people who vote in the presidential elections, but don’t bother to vote in the midterms. We think — and we know — that the midterms are very important this year, and so we are trying to promote people not neglecting because a lot of times, people get busy with their lives and don’t look at the media and don’t realize there’s a big election going on. That’s what we want to make people aware of,” said Susan Young with Indivisible Tulsa County.
Organizers said while it’s too late to register to vote here in Oklahoma, you still have time to request an absentee ballot. The deadline is Monday night at 5 p.m.
