OWASSO – A duplex fire in Owasso displaced at lerast one family.

Nick Boatman with the Owasso Police Department tells KRMG that a duplex located near 83rd St. North and 107th East Avenue sustained substantial damage this morning. Thick smoke could be seen billowing from the home, and he said the Owasso Fire Department was able to get the fire under control fairly quickly. Boatman was handling the information for the fire department while they battled the fire.

However, investigators are still working to find the cause of the fire, and right now, it is too early to tell.

Boatman said several rooms were a total loss, and he isn’t sure if both sides of the duplex were occupied or just one.

No people or firefighters were injured during the blaze; however, a dog needed oxygen after it was rescued and perked right up.

Boatman can’t say right now if the two units were a total loss, but they sustained substantial damage.
