TPD says they were looking for Darnell Jackson, 27, in connection to a robbery at a Stop & Save convenience store earlier in the week.

Residents told police Jackson was in one of the rooms and before officers could make contact with him, a maintenance worker went into the room and told Jackson police were coming. Jackson then pepper-sprayed the worker and ran before officers could get to him. The maintenance worker said it looked like Jackson had a gun.

The next day, officers continued their searched and was flagged down by a person who said they saw Jackson walking nearby and provided a description of him. Officers located Jackson walking in a downtown parking garage around the corner from Hewgley Terrace.

Police say Jackson at first did not obey officers’ commands, but finally surrendered when he was threatened with a taser. He was taken into custody and police say they found a fake handgun on him.
Jackson was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for his robbery warrant and aggravated assault and battery.
