TULSA, Okla. — A man has been charged after he caused another man to be hit by a car in east Tulsa on Oct. 23.
Last week, the Tulsa Police Department was investigating an auto-pedestrian accident near 8th Street and Sheridan Road that killed 59-year-old Roy Deaver.
According to court records, Christopher Hart has been charged with manslaughter in connection with Deaver’s death
According to TPD, witnesses saw someone chasing Deaver and throwing objects at him before he ran into the street.
Further investigation revealed that Deaver had shown up outside Johnny’s Auto Sales at the intersection and confronted Hart and two others who had parked on the property after hours, TPD said. Deaver was living in a vehicle on the property.
Authorities said Hart began chasing Deaver away from the property, and that’s when the fatal accident occurred. Hart then got back into his car and left before officers arrived.
TPD said homicide detectives located Hart the next day and interviewed him about the incident. Hart said he was at the dealership to sell the owner stolen motor oil containers and that he saw Deaver get hit by the truck.
