The community conversation set for Monday night at Hardesty Regional Library in Tulsa has been canceled due to the threat of severe weather.
Mayor Monroe Nichols broke the news during the Monday with the Mayor segment on the KRMG Morning News with Skyler Cooper.
“As you can imagine, we have our public safety assets there, including our emergency management director.” Mayor Nichols said. “I’ve asked them to cancel the one tonight just so we can be prepared as we need to be for any weather event.”
The mayor told KRMG the next community conversation on public safety is still set for Thursday at Rudisill Regional Library’s BOK Harmony Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A news release from the City of Tulsa said the City is evaluating the feasibility of rescheduling the missed conversation.
The National Weather Service Tulsa said strong to severe storms may develop Monday afternoon, with the greater threat of severe storms coming Monday evening and overnight.
The KRMG StormCenter team is standing by, ready to activate, should severe storms threaten Green Country.
