An illegal firearm purchase led to the shooting of a teenager by a teenager.
Tulsa Police officers responded to a shooting earlier this week at the TradeWinds Villas near 39th and Garnett. When officers arrived, they said they found a 17-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Several witnesses were helping him and told officers what happened.
Police say the victim was meeting the 16-year-old suspect about buying a gun. Instead, the 16-year-old robbed the victim of cash and shot him in the kneecap.
Officers quickly found the teenage suspect and took him into custody. He was arrested and booked into the Community Intervention Center for First-Degree Robbery and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
