TPD began its investigation after animal control officers requested their help with a cruelty investigation at a home near 12th and Memorial.

Officers spotted insects and smelled decay as they approached the home. At first, they believed a dead human was inside. They were about to force their way in when Marcia Reynolds opened the door.

Once inside, the officers found deplorable conditions and 24 living animals inside metal crates. The home was covered in urine, feces, and trash.

Reynolds told officers she lived there full-time and didn’t have air conditioning. She said that contributed to the animals’ deaths, but she didn’t report it.

Reynolds faces 29 counts of animal cruelty and was given a bond of $580,000.

The surviving animals have been taken to neighboring animal shelters and rescues. If you would like to help the animals, please reach out to Tulsa Animal Services or the Humane Society of Tulsa.
