On a per-share basis, the Oklahoma City-based company said it had net income of $2.99. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $3.37 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.76 per share.
The maker of human-resources and payroll software posted revenue of $543.8 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $535.1 million.
Paycom expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.21 billion to $2.22 billion.
