BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Broken Arrow has a new Home Depot! The new store celebrated its grand opening in a unique way on Wednesday.
Instead of a traditional ribbon cutting, the new BA store held a “board-cutting” ceremony where a decorated board was cut to honor the opening of the hardware store.
The board-cutting didn’t just acknowledge the grand opening of the store, it was also done to celebrate the new jobs and opportunities created by this new Home Depot location.
Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee and Muscogee Nation Principal Chief David Hill were present Wednesday evening to celebrate.
“We want to be great partners, we want to be localized from our assortment inside of the store, but we want to find those worthy causes so we can really get into the community and help where we can,” said Calvin Martin, Regional Vice President for Home Depot. “Whether that’s a school with a playground, whether that’s local Veterans in the community, we want to really be a part of that community and help out where [it’s] needed.”
The store is located near 121st and Aspen, right by the Regal Warren Theater.
