Last year, Keiosha Rucker was charged with five counts of manslaughter after the car she was driving collided with a Tulsa fire truck, killing five people, including an unborn child.

Now, Rucker is suing the Tulsa Fire Department and the City of Tulsa, claiming the driver of the fire truck was speeding while driving to a structure fire. The crash occurred near South Harvard Avenue and East 41st Street when the fire truck was passing at the intersection of South New Haven Avenue, and Rucker turned south, causing the fire truck to crash into the car.

Rucker’s lawsuit claims the driver of the fire truck was traveling at a “high and unsafe rate of speed” toward Rucker’s vehicle. She is asking for at least $75,000 in damages.

She pleaded no contest to five counts of manslaughter and is set for sentencing in December.
