According to an affidavit, deputies found several dogs outside of the house that appeared to be malnourished, underweight with bones visible and dogs covered in fleas. Deputies also saw some of the dogs covered in “fecal matter” with “matted hair.”

Deputies met with the homeowner, identified as Sharron Lee Adams. Inside the house, deputies noticed a strong smell of feces and found feces on the floor, with multiple dogs in cages.

The dogs appeared to be in need of medical treatment, as well as appearing underweight. WCSO said many of the dogs did not have food or water.

Deputies found two dead cats outside of the house and five more dead cats inside of a freezer in the house.

Adams was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on 60 counts of animal cruelty.

Deputies contacted the Oklahoma Animal Alliance to rescue and care for the dogs.
