CATOOSA, Okla. — The Catoosa Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #150 will be holding its annual “Shop with a Hero” today where they help local children have a great Christmas, but with a little change to the name.
The name this year will be “Swarer to Be a Hero”, in honor of Catoosa Police’s late Captain Jennifer Swarer, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in January.
Swarer was honored by the department for her years of service and her commitment to make sure the program brought joy to families in need. They say her legacy of compassion still inspires them today.
“We honor you, Captain Jennifer Swarer, and your selfless dedication to the citizens of Catoosa,” the police department said in a social media post. “Your influence and kindness will forever be a guiding light in our community.”
Swarer to Be a Hero will be held today at 8 a.m. at the Catoosa Walmart, located at 19801 Robson Road. Catoosa Fire Department and Catoosa Professional Firefighters’ Local 4798 will be helping with the event.
