Teenager involved in fatal 2024 shootout enters guilty plea

TULSA, Okla. — A teenager who police arrested for a fatal 2024 shootout where one teenager was killed and another was critically injured entered a guilty plea on Friday.

Ricardo Galarza was arrested for a shootout that occurred at an east Tulsa apartment complex in 2024.

During the shooting, police said 16-year-old Valin Bell was killed and another 16-year-old was critically injured.

Originally, Galarza was facing a first-degree murder charge, but with his guilty plea it was amended to first-degree manslaughter in the commission of a misdemeanor.

Galarza received a 20 year sentence with the first 15 years set to be served in custody and the last five years to be suspended.
