MCSO say man who went missing in December has been found dead

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — The Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office said a man who went missing in December 2025 has been found dead.

We’ve been covering the search for Erik Throne, who went missing on Dec. 14 after he was involved in a car crash.

According to witnesses, Throne was last seen walking eastbound from East Highway 64 and 105th Street East in Webbers Falls.

Around 2:20 p.m. on March 13, the sheriff’s office said they received a call from someone reporting they’d found a body in a pond located near Highway 100 and Interstate 40.

The Webbers Falls Police Department and Webbers Falls Fire Department responded and secured the scene following the call.

Shortly afterward, deputies said they arrived to the area and found a man lying near the bank of the pond.

Law enforcement said the man wasn’t immediately identified at the scene.

The man’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office said preliminary findings indicated the body may belong to Erik Throne and his family were contacted.

Afterward, the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were able to positively identify the man as Erik Throne.

Authorities are still waiting on the official report from the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine Throne’s cause of death.
