2 men arrested after police say 29 stolen guns were found in their possession

TULSA, Okla. — Two men were arrested after the Tulsa Police Department said they found a total of 29 stolen guns in their possession.

Around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, police stopped a car near East 33rd Street South and Memorial Drive.

When officers searched the car, they said they located a pair of bolt cutters, meth in the center console and a rifle case in the backseat.

Police said the rifle case had two pistols, two rifles and a revolver inside of it.

Authorities identified the driver of the car as 48-year-old Christopher Seaborn.

According to officers, Seaborn told them that he and another man had broken into a storage unit containing several guns.

When the department searched the storage unit Seaborn had mentioned, they said they found 17 rifles and pistols stored inside of it.

According to the department, Meeks is accused of have stolen the firearms from another location before taking them to the the storage unit where they were later stolen again by Seaborn.

On Friday, officers were able to serve two search warrants related to the case. During the search, authorities said they found seven additional guns in Meeks’ possession.

Seaborn was booked into the Tulsa County Jail and is facing the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Burglary After Former Conviction of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property
  • Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • Possession of Burglary Tools

Meeks was also booked into the Tulsa County Jail and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony
  • Obstructing Justice
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Between both men, the Tulsa Police Department said they recovered 29 guns.

The department stated, “The guns were not reported stolen from the original owner or owners. This is a reminder to please document your serial numbers and report any stolen firearms.”
