TULSA, Okla. — Police say a car stolen in east Tulsa was later found with a 13-year-old boy behind the wheel.
Tulsa Police say the car was stolen overnight this past weekend between Saturday night and Sunday morning in a parking lot near 31st and Mingo.
Then, Sunday night, police say they got a call from a person who reported seeing what they described as a child driving a white Hyundai Elantra, the same make and model as the stolen car.
With help from TPD’s Real Time Information Center, they tracked the car to the 11th and Garnett area, did a traffic stop, and sure enough, they say the 13-year-old was driving the car.
They say the steering column had been damaged.
While it’s not clear who stole it, they say he was taken to the Tulsa County Juvenile Justice Center for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
