Police investigate double homicide, stabbing, and a deadly officer-involved shooting in North Tulsa

Tulsa Police Department

Tulsa Police are investigating a string of violent incidents overnight at Apache Manor that detectives now believe may all be connected.

Just after 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a 911 call reporting two people shot inside a parked car at the complex near 3600 East Young. The victims were a 75‑year‑old man, believed to be a ride‑share driver, and his 29‑year‑old passenger.

Both had been shot inside the vehicle, and evidence suggests the gunfire may have come from someone inside the car. The driver was found shot in the head and died behind the wheel. Officers pulled the woman from the backseat and attempted lifesaving measures, but she also died from her injuries.

While officers were working the double homicide, another call came in from the opposite side of the complex reporting three first‑degree burglaries.

Officers found several apartment doors kicked in and a 30‑year‑old man who had been stabbed multiple times. Investigators say the victim confronted the suspect, who then attacked him and continued stabbing him as he tried to run. The suspect fled into a nearby wooded area.

Around 1:42 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to the Maverik gas station at Apache and Harvard. A man matching the stabbing suspect’s description had entered the store, stolen a beer, and threatened security with a bloody knife. After he left, security locked the doors and called 911.

Officers found the suspect walking east from the store, armed with two knives. They followed him toward a mobile home community and back toward Apache Manor, giving repeated commands to drop the weapons. Police say the man was agitated and refused to comply. As he moved closer to passing cars and nearby homes, officers used multiple less‑lethal tools, including Pepperballs, a bean‑bag launcher, pepper spray, and a Taser in an effort to stop him.

The suspect threw one knife, striking an officer, who was not injured. He continued to hold a second knife, described as a butcher knife. Police say that because he posed an imminent threat, an officer fired, hitting the suspect. Officers provided first aid, and he was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

At this point, investigators believe the man killed in the officer‑involved shooting may be linked to the earlier homicides.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence, and the details may change as the investigation continues.
