More severe weather predicted for Friday night in Green Country

The National Weather Service in Tulsa is tracking severe weather developing Friday night.

According to NWS, a cold front will move through the area late tonight into Saturday morning. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop along and just ahead of the approaching front.

Instability, moisture, and shear will be in place for isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms late this afternoon, this evening, and into the overnight period, NWS says.

There is a slight (15%) risk of excessive rainfall from showers and thunderstorms through late tonight. Isolated flash flooding is probable.

The National Weather Service says please do not attempt to drive into flooded roads and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Unsettled weather will persist through Saturday morning. A cold front tonight will drop temperatures for this upcoming weekend and into early next week.
