Officers said they responded to the scene, but weren’t able to find the suspect.

However, as officers were leaving the building, they received another call reporting someone had been stabbed at one of the apartments.

Officers said the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Cortez Martin, followed them as they entered the victim’s apartment, chasing them into one of the bedrooms.

Authorities said the victim and Martin began struggling over the door, leading the victim to grab a box cutter and stab Martin through the door’s opening.

After being injured, police said Martin left the apartment and authorities were able to locate and arrest hm.

The department said Martin was transported to the Tulsa County Jail where he’s facing charges of First Degree Burglary, Public Intoxication and Public Nuisance.
