TPD searching for 16-year-old accused of being involved in January bar shooting

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department is searching for a 16-year-old they believe was involved in a shooting that injured multiple people at an east Tulsa bar in January.

We covered when the shooting at Friendly Tavern occurred on Jan. 18.

At the time, police reported the incident began when a security guard attempted to break up an argument happening outside of the bar that eventually led to an exchange of gunfire.

Authorities stated three people were shot during the incident.

Police said one of the injured individuals was 16-year-old Tevin Mathis.

According to the department, Mathis was found with a gun by his side at the scene and investigators later determined he was the aggressor in the confrontation.

Authorities said a warrant has now been issued for Mathis’ arrest.

Though Mathis is only 16-years-old, police said Mathis has been labeled a Youthful Offender, allowing his information and photo to be shared.
