1 pedestrian dead following crash with OSU bus transporting girls’ softball team

NOBLE COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said a pedestrian has died after being hit by an Oklahoma State University bus transporting the girls’ softball team to a game in Wichita, Kansas.

OHP said that around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the bus was traveling northbound on I-35 near Perry.

Troopers said witnesses told them they saw a woman running in and out of traffic on the highway before she was hit by the bus.

OHP said the woman passed away in the crash, but stated no one on the bus was injured.

Following the fatal crash, the team’s game in Wichita was postponed.

Oklahoma State Cowgirl Softball posted the following statement to social media:

“Today’s scheduled softball game between Oklahoma State and Wichita State has been postponed after the Cowgirls’ team bus was involved in an accident on the way to Wichita. No one from the OSU travel party was injured.

When the new game day and time are set, those details will be shared.”
